Tamil Nadu MSME loan schemes: NEEDS, UYEGP and AABCS subsidies explained

Tamil Nadu's MSME Department runs three main subsidy schemes on bank loans. NEEDS gives first-generation entrepreneurs a 25% capital subsidy up to ₹75,00,000 and a 3% interest subvention. UYEGP gives a 25% subsidy up to ₹3,75,000 on trading and business projects up to ₹15,00,000. AABCS gives SC and ST entrepreneurs a 35% subsidy up to ₹1,50,00,000. All three take applications online only.

UYEGP aims to reduce unemployment among socially and economically weaker sections by helping them set up businesses (Tamil Nadu MSME Department, UYEGP).

The Annal Ambedkar Business Champions Scheme is for enterprises wholly owned by SC or ST persons (Tamil Nadu MSME Department, AABCS).
